Go ON Local is our new toolkit and community platform that aims to support not only digital champions, but organisations and groups to help people get the Basic Digital Skills they need. With the launch of this platform, we have now closed digitalskills.com.
Go ON Local is a free platform for you to use, and you'll still benefit from the vast range of resources found on digitalskills.com. You’ll also have access to collaboration tools that allow you to connect, share and promote best practice with other individuals and organisations that are working to improve Basic Digital Skills. See what else you can do on Go ON Local:
Advice is split into topics, to help you plan and run digital skills activities. You can also add your own documents or website links which may be useful to others, ensuring everyone has access to the best help available.
Go ON Local uses your postcode to show you what’s going on in your local area. You can share what you're doing, whether that’s running classes, using resources, or how you’ve inspiring and motivating others to get the Basic Digital Skills they need.
You can list your events to make other digital champions aware of your activities. Add your event details, information on how to get involved, or how someone can inspire people to attend.
If you need equipment, volunteers, training space or other requirements to get your digital skills activities up and running, post a need so that others in your local area can help you.
Similarly, if you have anything spare that others may be of use to others, you can post an offer so that they can take advantage of it.
If you’re working on a digital skills programme with various people or organisations, setting up a group is a great way to collect and collate updates, events and resources related to your project.
When you’re ready to post to Go ON Local, tag your group name within your update to post it to your group page too. This will let everyone in your group access your project resources and learn from your work.
